Water cooled brakes?

http://www.opentracking.com/water_cooling_brakes.htm

I came across this article the other day. I never heard anyone discuss this issue before, but I see that brakes get eaten regularly on a car the size of ours. Has anyone used this? Opinions on value?

I've heard of it being done with the window washer motor, I suppose this plus brake ducting would make a nice experiment.

Have any of you guys seen these tractor trailer races where they use a lot of water cooling on the brakes? Big steam clouds coming from the brakes on every turn! I think it was a race in Japan if I recall correctly.
