Question Suspension Q's. What's the differences? Lowering, etc...

I must be having a brain fart or something, but I can't figure this stuff out.

Here's the deal - on this project car of mine, I started out with a '94 V6 car. OK, so far, I have put in a '98+ rear end, and will soon be changing all the K-Member stuff to match the '98+ LS1 cars (this car is getting an LS1).

What I need to know is - what is the difference between all of the suspensions? Why is there different lowering kits for the '93-'97 V6's/V8's and the '98-'02 V6's/V8's? The '98+ V8 rear section went on the car fine with no problems, and I just left the stock V6 springs on it. The same could be done with a '93-'97 V8 rear end. So why the different lowering kits? Is it all based on the front suspension? And if so - does that mean I will need a '98+ V8 lowering kit for this car, even though it is a '94?

I know that the V6 Springs are softer - is that the only difference in all the kits? The stiffness of the springs?

Does that make sense? Help? Please? Thanks!

If you're changing to a LS1, you need to get rid of the V6 springs.

What do you want to do with the car, how will it be used? What and where are the kits you were looking at?

I am definitely planning on getting rid of the V6 springs -
the main thing I need to know is what is the difference in ANY of the lowering kits for '93+ F-Bodies?
I am particulary interested in the Eibach Pro Kit, or really just anything to hide some wheel gap and not sacrifice much ride comfort.

As far as the Pro-Kit goes, the 93-98 Pro-Kit has progressive rate front springs, where as the 98-02 Pro-Kit as linear rate fronts springs. Also, not sure about this, but I think if you were to put the 93-97 progressive front springs on an LS1 car, I dont think it will sit as low as it should, the LS1 being lighter in the front and all...
