Suspension material
The material isn't the only factor. Its thickness and geometry are just as important. You could make suspension parts out of balsa wood if you made them big enough.
That said, 3/4 of my rear suspension is made from 6061. What sort of part did you have in mind?

Thanks.
Take it from me as I learned the hard way: Any parts you can buy for less than you can make them for (using quality rod ends) will have completely crappy cheap rod ends that will soon rattle incesantly to the point of driving you nuts. After you replace the ends with quality ones, you've spent more money than just buying quality stuff in the first place.
If you want to buy rod-ended LCA's and PHB the only ones I know of that use quality rod ends are the LG Motorsports and Unbalanced Engineering pieces. They're expensive, but worth it. If you don't want to pay that much, make your own. The LCA's are only $12 each and the PHB is $20. All the money is in the rod ends.
