Suspension for a light street racer
Suspension for a light street racer
I have a 94 z28 and was wondering if I should actually spend the money for aftermarket suspension upgrades or should I just get a polyurethane bushing kit for the whole suspension. I don't really autocross or drag race(yet), right now I just race friends or someone on the street. Do I really need to invest in better suspension? Also, If I were to make my own subframe connectors, where should I weld them? Or is this a bad idea, and I should just buy some aftermarket ones? And how much difference does an aftermarket torque arm do for you in the real world? I know, theoretically, they're supposed to be real good, but do they make that much difference? Thanks for you help.
Rather than racing your car on the street with all the possible downsides of that, take your money and spend it on a class at a racing school. It's legal, and you're far less likely to kill someone. Once you do that for a bit, you'll be better prepared to decide what might need to be fixed with the car.

Yes, please - I have heard of several fatalities recently, some at low speed, and there is just no reason for it. One of which involved a little boy who lost his arm, and I think one of the girls that went through a window, after an 80MPH street race between a Honda (driver dead, passenger fractured arm) and a Camaro (driver ok)
Side note, poly does not belong everywhere on the car, so dont order a full kit, good in some places, not so good in others.
Good luck
