suspension, Hows its work?

I was wundering what all makes up the suspension besides springs and shocks.

Was also wundering what all is involved in lowering a car. I'm pretty sure its just springs and what do they mean when they say they are adjustable?

Also whats are its uses in drag racing, how does a good suspension make you faster.

If anyone could give me details or point me in the right direction it would help. I just hope its not some boring long definition.

If you read the book "How to Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn, you will have just begun to understand suspension systems. Race teams hire engineers to do nothing but work suspensions. If, as a result of reading this, you are getting the idea that suspension systems are VERY complex, and that there is no simple definition as to what works when and where and why, you are correct.

Honestly the best thing you can do is read everything that you can get your hands on, until you decide that you know as much as you want or need to know. This board is a pretty good place to start.
