Ride height differences LT1 and LS1
Ride height differences LT1 and LS1
Hi,
I have a 96 Z28. I bought a set of 2001 WS6 springs and shocks.
When I installed the rear springs, the first thing I noticed is the rubber isolaters were different, i.e. thicker on the LS1 springs...just like my 3rd gens...rounded at the top with cored holes. The 96Z28 isolators were flat and no holes.
The WS6 spring was about 3/4" taller than my stock spring, with one less coil turn.
Now for my question. Is it that trans ams sit higher than camaros or did they raise the ride height for the WS6 LS1 cars over the stock cars? Or both.
Why the difference in height?
Now I wonder how high the front will be.
The rear of my car is noticably higher than the front and I thank God I used the flat rubber isolators of the stock springs so it wouldn't be higher.
Let me know. Has anyone else done this swap?
James
