Just would like to share,
Ran Thunderhill park in Willows Ca. again sat.7th. 3miles 15 turns.
I love this stuff,it keeps getting better and better pushing my own envolope.I beat my best time of aug.3rd at 2min.36sec.My best this time 2.28secs,a more consistant 2.30secs.The new Jet stage 2 PCM has done wonders to this car w/my Mods.Gains in all ranges.Got to 99mph on the front straight weeee!!
Do you think my wife gave me the 2 secs off for effort?j/k
One spin out at turn 7,first session(firt lap),cold tires, tire pressure too low.Its going to take some work to get the interior and outside back to Hella Clean.Dirt and weeds inside noooo!!Made air adjustments, warmed tires a little before "gettin it" the rest of the day(what a great day)
But right front caliper was draggin all day, took some meat off the rotor&pad.Nothing to serious.Experienced a hesitation in the motor at high RMPs,but durning the final sesions. At first I'm thinkin the new chip isnt really comunicating well w/ECM.But fuel was getting low,Prob.catching small gaps of air from the fuel being low and sloshing around. It was a little below 1/4 tank.
I'm thinking complete rebuild front brakes, rubber, new bearing assemblies, before Sear Point on Oct.11th.
Those of you that took time to read this, this topic is open for advise, small talk, parts refferals, whatever. You guys are cool see ya. T.

Congrats on the improving lap times, that's great! I too spent the weekend cleaning out the car. We ran Thill backwards on wednesday, and I ran off the track coming over turn 5. Blasted through the brake markers, lots of dirt and scrapes... Oh well, it's a race car

Regarding your brakes, hubs, etc: I'd disassemble the right front and see what's going on. The caliper shouldn't be dragging on the rotor, and you need to find out why. If something's bent, pad worn to nothing, etc. For the hub, see if you can shake the wheel with your hands on 12 and 6 o'clock (and the wheel off the ground). If it wiggles, then get a new hub. It should be nice and tight.

The JET chip will advance your timing, basically. When you're running the car hard and hot, at high RPM's, advanced timing just gives it that much more likelihood of pinging. I presume you're running 91 octane? If you can pull the chip out for a session, I'd try it, and see if the hesitation goes away.

Dave

Thankx Dave, yeah I'm pretty stoked about the improved time.Since at the begining of this season I was doing 2.59 yuk.
Hmm,There is some movement in the hub on that side,I wasnt that concerned b/c I thought like older/unsealed/not one unit bearings you can have a little movement and be normal/ok.But I'll take yer word for it,I'm swapping both sides.Rightis bad, left ok,but its only a matter of time for the left I presume.
You went off at 5,Was that using bypass or actual turn 5 b/c if it was actual turn 5 up on the hill that I imagine was a little freaky.Took me 2+ hrs. to get my interior clean/back to the way it was.

For your hubs, I'd get them at Pep Boys. They're $109.99 down here, and have a lifetime guarantee. Bring 'em in when they go bad, get another one free. Can't beat that deal! I did both mine this weekend, coincidentally.

My off was over the hill. Turn 5 in reverse is pretty wild. As someone described it, it's like the x-games - launch into thin air, turn right up there, then come down and hope your wheels are in the right place

Dave
