Newbie that needs.....

Some advice on the suspension setup as follows:

Global West Traclinc 6 speed
Global West Front coil over kit w/springs
Global West Rear coil over kit w/springs
Global West Rear lower control arms double adjustable rod ends
Global West panhard double adjustable rod ends
Global West Front lower control arm bearing kit
BMR Front upper A-arms adjustable rod ends
BMR Sway bars 32mm/21mm (both solid)
BMR Lca brackets ( not sure if needed for road racing/auto x )
Bilstein HD front and rear shocks
Baer Bump steer kit

Current Suspension/Chassis Mods:
BMR Chrome moly STB yellow
Kenny Brown SFCs
1LE Tranny mount

The main goal for this setup is to race on the weekend but, I am not concerned with the setup being "too aggressive" for a daily driven car.

Thanks in advance,
Erik

Unless you go with very light springs, you will need to have the Bilsteins revalved. The LCA relocation brackets will be needed if you lower the car, which I assume you will.

How much does it cost to get the Bilsteins re-valved? I'm not sure about the poundage rating of the springs that come with the coil over kits but, they said that they use that setup on their race car.

The revalve is around $120.

By the way, did Global West tell you do get the bumpsteer kit?

NO, why? A friend said it would be a good idea to get it...but I don't know for sure. What does it do?

I heard that the springs are 850# but nobody really knows for sure since Global wont give out the spec officially, so that was someones estimate. I would guess if this is for a fourth gen, that it was based off a CMC car. Global West did a days worth of testing on Don Trask's CMC car and supposedly that is what they came up with and are using as the package now.

I've just never seen anyone actually adjust and use one, and thought GW may have suggested it.

You've got a whole bunch of hi-tek parts there, May I ask if you actually need them all? For example the front suspension - are you looking for some wild camber settings with those adjustable arms? The rear adjustable arms - are you expecting or having alignment issues? I'm just asking to save you some money, don't get me wrong...

When you mod your suspension it's easy to wind up with a car that will change toe in slightly as the wheel moves up and down. So, if you hit a bump with just one front wheel the car will tend to steer off a straight line ("bumpsteer"). The bumpsteer kit lets you adjust this out, but it's a difficult process that requires expertise and equipment. Serious pros often use the kit to get just the right little bit of bumpsteer to make the car handle better.

Many of your other proposed mods also require substantial expertise to adjust correctly.

Opinion (not meant as an attack): You're proposing to spend thousands of dollars without understanding why. The mods require a _lot_ of expertise/equipment to adjust correctly. I'd try to learn more about suspension/handling first.

Mainly I'm copying off Kelly's car off of project transam and he said that he will help me set tup my car. I've talked to him many times but, and also he thinks I should take a little at a time to learn how things work. Good advice though. So in you opinion what items should I leave out.

I've installed Eibach Pro-Kit and KYB shocks and only had .005 of bumpsteer....look at your tie rod after you lower the car. If it is parallel with the lower control arm, bumpsteer will be minimal. At stock ride height bumpsteer is more of a problem.
