Need help with suspension components
Hello everyone. I am looking into upgrading my suspension and I need some informed opinions. First I will upgrade the wheels and tires to 17 in. with 275/40/ZR17s.
Next I was thinking of installing SLP level 1 suspension. However, I'm not sure about the Eibach springs (are they progressive rate) or if the LCAs are a significant improvement over stock. What do you guys think of the SLP package?
My other plan is to install Bilstein shocks with Hotchkis progressive rate springs. A hotchkis front 32 mm sway bar. Then leave the rear suspension components stock.
My car is a daily driver. I want to improve the handling, lane changes, on/off ramps, canyon carving while maintaning a civil ride.
So which plan should I go with? Pick the components in one package or buy them separately from different aftermarket supplier?
Thanks in Advance

i think the car i just bought has the suspension you are talking about. i am very unimpressed, however, i have not driven a fourth generation with the stock suspension to compare.
I just put the 16" wheels on the car with mismatched front and rear tires for this weekend's autocross with the porsche club, and think the car drives better with the 245s in the rear than with the 275s. maybe the comp ta's stink, i dont know.
the rear is too stiff compared to the front, the rear doesnt stick on a sweeper (not talking about sliding the rear with the accelerator).
im new to this board, so i dont know who is good or not, but i do know that i dont recommend the setup i have.

The SLP Level I aftermarket kit is a good package. I have it on my Firehawk (called Level II on SLP cars, Level I was stock), and it is a good compromise. The Eibachs are progressive, so the ride is actually very good, I actually think it's better than a stock f-body. The kit includes the 1LE 32mm front sway bar, and the LCAs and panhard have stiffer bushings. The LCAs and panhard themselves are stock pieces, but they will be better due to the stiffer bushings. While this setup doesn't handel as good as my Z06 did, it definitely handles better than either of the f-bodies I've had.
