Lug locks are a waste of your hard earned money.

For $10 at Harbor Freight, a universal socket can be purchased to remove locks, in the name of "lost keys".

So, what is the point?

And having worked at an auto parts store I can tell you they are a pita. People come in all the time with broken keys or stripped locking lugs-unable to get their wheels off. If anything they will make it hard for you to get your own wheels off.

I removed my locks when I got the car. They wear out quickly if you change tires very much. Steer clear of them if you change rims/tires regularly. They are not strong enough to handle any abuse. and I never used by impact on them...

So checked with some auto parts stores and no one knows of anything used to take locking lugs off, I figured it would be common looks like ill have to buy it from the overpriced people of snap on that roll by the dealership everyso often....sucks theres no way to prevent your wheels from being stolen besides expensive alarms which dont always do the trick.

If someone wants your car bad enough, they will get it. Same with anything else.. I hold no faith in alarms, chains, or locks, except that they keep the honest people honest.
