Hawk Vs. EBC brake pads.

What would you guy concider to be a better pad.

Looking for as much stoping power as possible without changeing calipers. Id like them to last as long as with an OE pad. I probably wont be racing, just some spirited driving on back roads. Dusting is not a factor, i can deal with dust if i can stop better.

Ill be using power slot rotors. Thanks.

I've always been a big fan of Hawk pads; they work really well without ripping up the rotors (well the street pads anyways)
You might also consider the Performance Friction Z-pads

I like Hawks, and have heard good /bad about both pads. I've heard of EBC stuff lasting 1k miles, and I've heard of Hawks dusting like mad, I may be able to find what EBC compound but I'm assuming it was a street compound since it was a daily driven car.

However, I find the negative comments about Hawks not to be true in my case, so who really knows. I'm using the Hawk blacks that Thunderracing sells.

I use Hawk HP+ for everything (street/autocross/will use on the track). I had Performance Friction Z-Rated and there had to be something wrong with them, they were much worse than the stock pads. They lasted forever, just didnt stop well at all, warm or cold. I dont think you would be disappointed w/ the HP+. Im also running powerslots.

I'm running the Hawk HPS and I'm very impressed with them. I ran them in one track event back in January and autocrossed with them this past weekend. I never experienced any fade during the track event and the braking zone at the end of the front straight was from 120+ mph down to about 60 mph. I have noticed a slight increase in dusting but nothing major.

I kept getting confused between HPS and HP+, looking at the box for my pads say HPS so thats what I have. I dig the pads but haven't put the rears on yet, front rotor wear is fine and dusting is not a problem IMO.

i have the hawk HPS and they are great.
dust more than stock though.
if you don't race, i still think the stock pads are great.

I have HAWK HPS's which I've abused and they still work great-during aurocross. I wish I had gone with HP+'s but I don't know about the EBC's.

I'll be buying some Napa Ceramic performance pads.
Ive read from 2 members on this board that they are awesome pads and dont dust.
A guy on badrap.net (tampa fbody club) uses napa's ceramic pad and loves them. He said he use to have EBC and EBC's dusted a lot and didnt last long and the Napa pads lasted longer, stopped just as good with little to no dust.
My friend Cory has Napa pads on his 94 z28 and he says that he'll bet that his 94 z28 with single piston front brakes will stop better than his 98 ls1 z28 with dual pistons because of the napa pads.
Ive never heard anything bad about them... Im going to buy them.

I use hawks they are pretty sweet, take a few stops to get them warm but I am not sure iI have expereiced braked fade with thiem like I did with my oem replacements.

As for EBC greenstuffs, I hear they are better suited for smaller cars and do not stop or last as long as hawks.

Actually over OEM replacements, hawks dust alot less.

Only problem is one of my rear rotors has gouges in it I am nto sure what caused that?

Thanks for the imput guys. Due to the lack of first hand knoledge, EBC are out. But now i get to sit down and look at my money and see if I should just go with OEM replacments(i think my car stops fine, just I always want more), or a Hawk and Powerslot setup. Thanks again.

Stock rotors and something nice in front, stock in rear if you want. I dont think there is any legitimate reason to buy slotted/drilled rotors. Steel lines are nice too.

I decided to go with Hawk pads and OE rotors. The cross drilled look good, but i dont need them. and hopefully ill be getting a whole new brake system next time i need rotors.

Do you guys know of any online vendors to get hawk pads? Thunder Racing is the only place i have found so far, but i havent looked to hard.
Ill be getting the rotors from gmpartsdirect.com.

Thanks for all the imput, i really appreciate it. Hopefully ill be able to find some autoX this summer. Even though ill get my @ss handed to me(got SFC and a stock motor, like i dont even have a CAI yet), it looks like fun.
