Frame bent?

Very sad story, so I'll keep it short. I hit a guard rail at about 35 mph with my 00 SS, not my fault, got cut off. It was almost a direct hit with my front end, no fender damage, no hood damage, and the lights are even still good. I don't think the frame is bent, but how would I tell? The alignment feels great still and it drives the same. Can anyone help me tell if the frame is bent?

That you can't feel any difference is a good sign, however, you need to find out if your frame needs aligning. Off to the alignment shop with you! The best shops have a laser alignment system.

Sad to say, it seems the way the law works its better to let yourself get hit, even though its a completely natural reaction to avoid such a thing.

I hope the frame checks out free and clear for you... Good luck

Guess what, my frame is bent on both sides. I was really pissed when I took it in today. I have to say though, my insurence is being great about it. They're charging me my deductable and that's it, they're not raising my premium. They said they'd fix everything else even though the estimate is for 3000. I also found out that I only hit the rail at 30 mph, how sad is that. Thanks for the support guys!

Every MPH helps, so thankfully it was less than you thought. Sorry to hear about the car

I dont know the truth in it, even with electronic frame straightening, some folks never feel like the car will be the same again.

That's for sure. I got run off the road in my old F150 by a woman reading a book running through a stop sign. I slid sideways to avoid her and demolished a rim and bent several front suspension parts on a curb. She stopped and didn't even know if she hit me or not. She asked me! Then she split. The cops couldn't do anything cause she didn't hit me. That sucked! But now I know better.

Brace yourself on the wheel and smash the dumbarse as hard as you can. Then sue the snot out of their insurance company.

Can you tell I'm in a bad mood tonight?
