Flat Spotting a Tire

I was doing some spirited braking at highway speeds with my new C5 brakes and my ABS Inop light came on. I then jambed the brakes really hard to see what would happen and my front drivers-side tire locked up and smoked... It now has a flat spot. I know, kind of stupid, but I let off of the brakes as fast as I could as soon as I figured out what was happening.

My question is, will the flat spot be there for the rest of the life of the tire? I figure it probably will but I thought I would ask the experts. It is a little annoying because the tire thumps a bit now. Good thing I don't have much money into them, lol.
