Drivers' Ed with the Peachstate Porsche Club

I had a great time last weekend at Road Atlanta. We got rained on badly Saturday, but Sunday was clear and much fun. Bob Bishop from our board showed up Sunday and provided some helpful pointers--it was good to meet him, as we had talked and corresponded a number of times but had never met.

If you click on my website button below, and go to the last page, I have a few pictures of the event. Note the new CCW wheels and Kuhmo Victoracers on my SS.

Just so you know, Big Red and I did well. My instructor moved us up a level for the next PCA event, and we passed quite a few cars with fancier pedigrees.

Bill,

It was good to meet you, and I hope I was some help. I could see in your face the satisfaction of improvement. I am sure that your instructor appreciated your consistency.

If my engine is ready, I plan on driving in the August track day at Road Atlanta. See you there.

Thanks, Bob. I am mulling over the thought of going to full race pads, at least on the front, for the track events. If there was one thing my instructor did that was hugely different than what I did, it was the late threshold braking. Some Hawk HT-14s should push me closer in that direction. I realize they are not streetable, but pads are easy to swap.

Hope to see you in August.
