Back spacing and offset???
Back spacing and offset???
What are that and what is the difference. Is a 38mm offset okay? These are the wheels I am going to buy later tonite, as long as you guys say they will work. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43957
Thanks for any help, just want to make sure these will fit

This is the autocross/road race forum. Those wheels would not be appropriate for either. Performance would be compromised because they are too narrow and way too heavy. They weigh almost 10 lbs per wheel more than the factory 16x8 wheels that came on my ’94 Z28, which weighed 16 lbs and 10 oz. each. They would also ride much worse because of the additional unsprung weight. To answer your question about offset, with a wheel that narrow, you could use from a 20mm to a 56mm offset.

I wouldn't get those. Yes, they'll fit but sort of an odd size. Find some 17 x 9.5's. My 17 x 9.5 Borbet's are 46mm offset and fit perfect. I really believe the could go out another .5" to bring them to the edge of the wheel well. I just ordered some 17 x 9.5 ZR-1 36mm offset wheels for the front of mine, they're only for autocross. The 36mm offset will push them out another .5" over my Borbet's. I didn't want to hassle with all of the mods for 17 x 11's in the front. I will be running the 17 x 11's in the rear (50mm) and I know I have a lot of work to do there.
Actually, I just got a call from those guys, they are 38mm not 36mm. Not a big deal. 1.4173228" vs 1.496063", 0.0787402 difference. They're in the paint shop, it'll be about two weeks. Oh well, I'll be running on street tires on the 29th.
