Anyone Using higher stall with a4 for Autox

I like to do a bit of everything, drag, autox, lapping at road course. Truth is, I don't do a whole lot of any of these things: maybe 3 events in either area each season. I realize that, ideally I'd have an M6 but I was wondering if anyone does autox or lapping with a higher stall a4. The SLP 2400 stall would be something I might consider assuming it isn't going to be a total f up under the circumstances I mentioned.

I had an SLP 2400 stall in my '97 TA, could only take one day. It was just too "drag race" for me. All that revving drove me nuts driving around town. If any one is interested in this converter I'll make ya a heckuva deal on it!

That wasn't a very good sales pitch!

Based on your experience, I'd say that this probably isn't a good idea for me either.

I know of one guy who road races an LS1 Camaro with a high stall torque converter and likes it; not sure if he has tried autox.
Unless drag racing is the most important priority I would skip it!

I think I will definitely wait until I have an opportunity to drive a car with a higher stall before I take that step. Fact is, I really want a M6 but that takes a lot of cash that I don't have on hand these days.

Anyway, thanks for your input.

I have a 94 T/A that I drag race, autocross, and road race. It's an A4 3200 vigilante. 24,000 GVW cooler. I had some heat issues but after the cooler was upgraded it ran very well. Heat was only an issue on the road course. 220-230 on a 90 degree day.

I just put in my stock stall lst night to get my Vigilante change to a little lower(2800) stall. And my car is a pig with out it. Besides having to put it in N at all stops.

Even sprayed it today to try it out......My motor favors high RPM (CC306 cam) Stall is were it is at, but it really depends on your power range and heat.
