Anyone in Michigan Auto-X

Hey guys. I would like to try my hand at this and don't know crap. Anyone around SW Michigan want a tag along to a track and give me some tips?

Try sending a PM to lons94z on this board. He lives in Cassopolis, MI and goes to a lot of autocrosses in Michigan and northern Indiana. He has a '94 Camaro that he runs in ESP.

This coming Sunday there is an event at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor MI. It is an asphalt lot that is smooth and very large.

This is a South Bend region event. All you need is yourself and your car. I would be happy to "show you the ropes". Also I need a ride so if you were interested in a Co-driver I would pay your entry for the drive.

For more info go to SBRSCCA.ORG. You will find a link to register on-line on their site.

I'm planning on the Memorial Day SCCA event at the palace of auburn hills! I ordered my new trans today hoping it would be here in time but no...He said it would be roughly 3 weeks till arrival! Gotta install front sway bar this week and redo the rear bar also... See you there hopefully. They also throw me in ESP. Last year was brutal since my suspension was totally stock with 17" rims as the only mod. 1 mod too many for F-Stock! haha No big deal. F-Stock is insane also. There are awesome drivers in both classes!

I would have to meet you at LMC. There is an exit right off 94. I am not sure wich one.

I will be showing up early to help Steve Tamandli help set up course.

Mmmmmmmm! Autocross! I haven't done an Autocross since 1997 = Too long ago, I must say.

If I didn't have the Trans Am in the air midway into a T56 transmission swap, I'd tag along. I hope to get it out on Gingerman Raceway this fall in South Haven.

You guys ever go out there for some hot lapping?

AUTOCROSS

I am almost positive the exit you want is #30 off I 94.

The sign forthe LM College is on your left.

I will meet you at the site. That way I dont have to wait on you or you wait on me. I will be there around 7 but I will be helping with course.

See you there.

It's a little bit of a thread hijack, but yes I do. I went there in October with the Alfa Romeo club and again in the middle of April with Speedtrial. I'll be there again in July with NASA and 1-2 more times this year I'm sure. I'm going to Grattan on Memorial Day and Waterford Hills in early June.

I have a '94 Firebird that I'm building for NASA's American Iron road race class. Just took out the driver's door window today and Sawzalled the door panel on the inside as a preliminary to putting in the door bars to finish off my cage. Man, that door sure is a lot lighter. I'm weighing the parts tomorrow. So far I'm about 300 lbs. lighter since last Fall.
