'99+ Zexel Torsen Diff in '94?

Has anyone installed the take-out zexel Torsen diff that you can get from SLP? I'm guessing my stock '94 125K mile diff is about worn out. SLP sells the units they take out from the stock LS1 cars when they are building them to be SS's. Its only $99. It is my understanding that the Auburn unit, like those available stock on the LT1's, wear out while those torsen units don't. I know the take-out torsens aren't as nice as say the TR2's (T2R's?) but it only cost $99!
Is there a performance difference between the auburn and torsen?

Morgan,

I'd say you're guessing correctly on your diff. being smoked!

Torsens are all gear driven, and do not wear out. They do not work better than a new Auburn, but MUCH better than an old worn out Auburn....... It is a direct replacement (of course you want to check the backlash since you are changing carriers).

NOTE: As of now, it is not technically legal to install a Torsen in a 98 or older car in F-Stock..... GM still doesn't show it as a "service part", which will then make it 100% legal. However as long as the guys you run with are aware that it's a stock diff, you likely won't have an issue. I could care less at any event short of Nationals (in KS, not even a Tour).
