Z06 Rims

I have a 1996 Z-28 Convertible. I have heard that the convertible will not accept 17X11ZR1 wheels in the rear. I want to put 18X9.5 Z06 wheels on the front and 18X10.5 Z06 whells in the rear. Will this work on my car? Or do I have to go with 17X9.5's all the way around?

The 17x11 ZR1/GS offset wheels fit just fine on a 4th Gen convertible.

Does this mean I can use the 18X10.5 Z06 Rims in the rear? The ZR1 wheels were used just as a size ezample of what I was told by Discount Tire.

That means that you probably can as long as the offsets are the same - find the offset for the 17x11 ZR1/GS wheels and then the offset for the wheels you are looking at - I would guess that as little as a difference of 5mm might make a difference - just because of the larger wheel - unless you totally compensate for that with the tire (small enough tire on the 18" to equal out to the same as the tire used on the 17" that Fred mentioned above.

Here is a little calculator that might help you some.

This has got to be one of the longest running and most tenacious urban myths out there.

I was told by AFS in April '00 that the 11 x17 inch wheels would not fit a vert. Ican tell you that there is absolutely NO differance getting the 11 inch wheels to fit a vert versus a coupe.

I know of a guy with 18 x 10 inch wheels on all four corners.

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/1701/main.htm

Although I cannot see the details on the wheels on his website.

18x10.5s all around with no rubbing -

It is a tight fit around the jounce bumper when the car is in the air. If needed you could use a 1/8" spacer to get a little more room in there.
