My 2001 Camaro was stolen recently. The thief removed the door VIN and the windshield VIN. Our DMV is getting me another VIN plate for the door but said they could not get the tag for the windshield. Does anyone know of any possibility of getting another tag made for the windshield. I desperately need some help with this. I want to sell the car and I simply want it to be complete.

Have you talked to a dealership to see what they can do?
If they can't help, you might have to find one off a totaled car and have it somewhow renumbered...

 

Won't you have to remove the windshield to get it in there?

I would guess you could get one made at any metal fab shop. I would think that we could cut one here on the laser probably, but I am not sure. There might be some kind of laws and such that are involved.

 

Are they getting you a new VIN number or the same one? If it's a new one maybe you could talk to the dealership or even GM about getting a new metal tag with the new VIN the DMV provided you with.
