Will 50/50 split 3rd gen rear seats fit an LS1 ?

I currently have dark gray leather seats and I hate them. I freeze my *** in the winter and burn it in the summer. I was thinking of gettting either seat covers or replacement cloth seats. But if I get replacement cloth seats, I was thinking of getting the split rear seats like my old Trans Am used to have as well as making both front seats power, not just mine.

Just wanted to know if they would bolt right on like the regular bench seat would.

Thanks.

don't see why not, you're going to need the brackets though, and I believe they are welded on.

If the leather is in great shape, you should be able to sell them or trade them for cloth seats and make a pretty decent profit.

Blue89Bird, where are the brackets, at the base of where the seats are split ? Holding an extra hinge or something ?

Brangeta, seats are in almost perfect condition. No rips or anything, I was considering selling them but haven't decided yet.

A nice set of GTA seats would be nice, I kind of like the ET seats.

Thanks for your helps guys.

Yeah, those brackets would be a must, otherwise they would keep falling. When I had my 87, I changed my seats from split to whole and had to cut the brackets off to make it work, so they are definitely welded on. They are located on the center divider right where the backrest meets it. You could fab one yourself, in all honestly. Just a pin on each side that slides into a hole on the seat creating that inner "hinge".

Thanks for all the info. I think I'll just keep my full bench seat. I'm still gonna look for a nice set of cloth interior seats if I don't find a decent set of seat covers.

Wish I had known you a few months back. I switched my interior from cloth to leather and sold my set for dirt cheap in flawless condition! They went into a third gen!
