Nothing gets my blood boiling more than seeing a thread that was completely ruined because ignorant @$$holes had to come in and flame screaming "rice" because they didn't agree with the appearance mods that someone did (I just got done reading another thread that fell victim to flaming rice).

With that said, I've yet to see a 100% stock car that gets my heart pounding. Every time I see these "Top 10 rides" or what not that are posted on Camaro sites, truthfully I can't help but laugh that some of the cars that are getting such high comments are ones where the most time put into the car was on waxing it, as the rest of the car hasn't had anything done to it. Yawn, seriously. Then again, I guess that's why the top 10 Camaros on CarDomain (where EVERYONE can vote on cars) are customized ( mine's #8 at the moment )

While I'm not firmiliar with what mods are available to 3rd gens, 4th gens I think have a pretty good list of appearance mods available -- and it seems as though some "underground" people are extending their contributions towards the FBody community via Ebay (Such as the Spyder hood and Predator bodykit). Personally, I'd like to see more body kit selections made available that are full front and rear bumper replacements rather than "tack on." I purchased a WW F-1 OEM Kit (basically WW's repro RS kit) and at some point in time, I plan to just mold it right onto the body of the car to lose the "tacked on" look. But as other's have stated, don't worry about what other's say... just because they are too close minded to appreciate your mods doesn't mean that it doesn't actually look good. In person you'll hear a lot more compliments about the same things that people on the camaro boards have talked negatively about.
rice IMo isnt just imports, its just a way someone acts. thats all ill say on that subject tho...

and believe me, i really dont give a damn what people think of my car. yes mine will be getting performance mods first but thats because thats the part of my car that needs to be replaced moreso than the actual body.

and just last night i was playin around editting a photo of my car with an RMM style wing from a supra which looks like this:

http://www.hostpicsfree.info/show.ph...ewlook1478.jpg

so im not afraid of what people would say.

I agree 100%. people on this site are very close minded if it's not stock and fast then they don't like it!

i mean if everyone wanted badass styling they would have all bought Trans Am's right
well some poeple just care about performance.(camaro)

i for one don't like pulling up to a stop light and see another T/A pull up next to me and look exactly the same as mine (wait lets me guess BUT MINES FASTER)

i hate when people say rice this and rice that. (the same people who call everything rice are the same people who think only perfomacne matter and have mullets

Amen. IMO being fast is nice, but if your car looks the same as every other SS Camaro with Zr1s or Y2k chrome rims, who's going to realize it's you next time? When my car is done, I may not be the fastest one around but people will be able to know it's me.... hell, half the time people I've never really talked to are all "Hey I saw you cruisin on (insert street name here) the other day!" on the local sites.

anyone that thinks this is very close minded. build your cars how you like them, understand that not everyone will like what you do no matter how much others may like it. also understand that if it looks like hell 99% of the popualtion will let you know in one way or another.

if it's done right or serves a purpose then it's a worthwile modification. if you do a few things right many will compliment, if you do alot of things right some will pay you.

Couldn't have said it any better !
build it the way you want it !

I personally don't think appearance mods are a no-no for F-Bodies. Stock is usually boring

I think there are plenty of appearance mods out there for 4th gens. I suppose if you don't agree, you could start designing. I personally like the stock look, that is why I bought one.

As the above shows, at least for me, the same mod might look goofy on one car but 'in the right place' on another. Take for example the "funny wing" in the above link... I typically do NOT like that wing on an F-Body. However, because of the look of that car, I think the wing looks damn good on THAT particular Camaro. I don't think many could pull it off to where I'd actually like that wing but you did there buddy

I like my Y2Ks!

I agree with you though Meissen, I want a car that will stand out from the crowd (I still have a ways to go with mine). I want it to be fast also, and I do have a few bolt-ons, but 75% of the time when people see your car, its just sitting still in a parking lot or something.....and just how can you tell how fast a car is then?

If you want to make your FBody look better then do it. Don't listen to people who say you can with out FI or a stroker under the hood. People are just afraid of what other's think. Not to long ago there was several polls on if money wasn't an issue how would you build the best Fbody and it ended up as just a plain boring SS. Don't get me wrong I love the SS but come one, have a little imaginiation and don't just blend in the crowd.

Yeah I remember that, Chad, I was really enthusiastic and keeping up with that series of posts for building a sweet car but man when it started turning into a plain SS it was just too boring to stay tuned to it.
