Question white glow gauges, Rice or not?

My wife asked what i wanted for chistmas while I was on Ebay looking around, I told her she could get me some white glow gauges cuz they weren't very expensive. Well she got them and they are in shipping as I speak. A guy I work with used to work at a local custom shop and told me they are nothing but trouble, a pain to install and the lights and/or wireing is generally a maintanece issue that they "don't last". I asked him if he thought they are too ricey, and he said, yeah! Any oppinions ? If that's the case I won't even put them in.

i like them. Its just a matter of what color your car is. white, red, or black car with white guages yes. If your main paint scheme is something like green and black i would say no.

Ive had mine for a couple years and i like them. I got them off ebay but i cant remember the seller. I wired mine up with a relay so that they turn on when i turn on my lights.

Wink

Oh, so could you tell me what relay and how you did it because that was also a concern of mine. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

I had them a few years ago. I think mine were called "indiglo". They worked fine for a while, but then either the wires failed, or the transformer began to fail. The overlay lighting would flicker a little and it became annoying. I purchased another transformer and wires for it off ebay and they worked up until I changed my dash.

I didn't think they were "rice". I liked how they looked and I didn't care what other people might think.

I don't care for them because blue light is bad for night vision.

If this thread is ready to die, R.I.P., but I was hopeing for a few more opinions of if it is worth the time or the effort, or if I should just be content with leaving them alone. That is all I have to say unless I find an interest in someones opinion.
