True, it will reduce visibility, that's why I didn't do the front. The taillights are fine with it since you don't have to see by the light, just someone else see them. Also I only put 1 coat on them. I just painted my headlights yesterday. That came out pretty good considering. It is a little awkward to remove the headlight lenses, then sanding and masking the main reflector is a PITA since there are alot of ridges and the curvature. They look pretty good though. I am happy with them for now.

So how do you go about doing the solid red taillights that whistler has? I really liked how those looked.

Well, I got my painted lights on the car. Check out my web page in the pictures section. I have a couple pics of the final product.

im still dying to know how Whistler and his buddy did theirs

btw, anyone seen the "how-to angeleyes" writeups?
they show in detail how to get the headlights open without a huge mess.....just figuring out how the lights are darkened is the mystery part for me.
i guess i could put a few light layers of Nightshade over the headlamp chrome

I masked the rear reflector and used krylon on the rest of the Chrome. There seems to be no reduction in visibility.

I know how it's done and I don't even know Whistler. But, I'm keeping quiet so I can have mine done too.

Its a secret, if we told everyone then it wouldn't be unique anymore would it? Its actually really easy, but if you mess it up be ready to buy new headlights.

I understand the concept and I'm going to do it regardless. However, a walkthrough would be nice from someone who's been there so I have a better chance of not screwing up.

Be patient and wait for the writeup, you don't want to experiment on expensive headlights unless you have extras. It should be up soon.
