Its an L-88 hood!!! On a newer f-body! 3rd pic down on the page!

The last guy that I saw with that hood was in a magazine I think it was "popular hot rodding". But it said he did it himself he cut into the stock Z28 hood and glassed in a L-88 hood. I'll see if I can find the article but I doubt I have it still.

 

yeah I saw that article too, but I dont think that was this car and I doubt this is that hood. If that guy made this himself then damn, he did a good job. I certainly wouldn't mind a hood like that, I love the nostalgic look.

 

You have to custom make it yourself, no one does. The magazine i have of an LS1 car that had it was a red car. It looked sweet.

The red Z28 everyone was mentioning (not the one pictured, but the hood is identical) was a 1998 Z28 featured in the Summer 2002 issue of Camaro Performers, pages 23-25. His name was Mike Vivona from San Jose, California. Says in the article that Mike "with no prior experience, cut the hole in the hood and 'glassed the L88 scoop in." He also painted it himself in the front yard of his house! Nice car, wish my scanner worked or I'd post pictures.

hey folks that car is my wifes 01 z i ordered the hood scoop from a company back in early 2001. It took a few times to get it right. it is the l-88 vette scoop glassed to a stock hood. the bottom is cut out. the only problem with it is that it weighs a ton. and my wife is too short to see over it (ha ha) so i get to drive it more . I was trying to do something different since everyone has the ss or the cowl hood i think i succeded. now i am actually looking at a new hood from vfn its from the dick harrell edition camaro from gmmg. I think the web site i got the scoop from was www.up22.com
