wheelskins steering wheel cover questions

My leather steering wheel has seen better days and I was interested in the wheelskin leather covers. Has anyone tried these? Also, would it be better to remove the original leather or leave it?

I have one, and, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I'd leave the original leather though, because the wheelskin doesn't go in as far on the spokes as the original does.......at least in my case, so you might have gap there that wouldn't look good.

My wheelskin is starting to fall apart, I have had it for about 2 years. The leather is flaking and the holes for the tie-string have started to stretch. I would pass.

Any other suggestions? Mine's still functional but starting to look pretty bad.

Try www.wheelskins.com I put one on and it looks great. Took a while to install but worth it. There's pictures of mine on in my sig if you're interested.

Unfortunately I have none. I searched for alternatives, and its another factory wheel or used wheel from a wrecker. Both options were rediculously priced so I got a Sparco wheel, no airbag though. It should be here Tuesday. I would suggest a used one, they are generally around $200-$250. A wheelskin could be bought, trashed, and bought again for much less then buying any new/used wheel though. You might have a better experience.
