Wheels question

What would be the the correct bolt pattern for a 94 t/a?
Would 18"/8 fit on the car?

Thanks in advance

18x8 might fit, but remember, it must have the right offset as well. Also an 8" will fit 245 tires, why not get a 9" or 9.5" and run 275's?

All 4th gen f-bodies have a 5 lug by 4.75" bolt circle.

If you go with a 18x8" rim the ideal offset is 55 mm. The ideal backspacing is 6.5"

As for 275's fitting in the front, yes they will fit but you will need a rim with at least an 8.5" width.

All this information comes from this page.

I thought a 275 needed a minimum 9" rim? Would a 275/35/18 perform OK on an 8.5" wheel?

Well it's kinda strange but different manufacturers recommend different minimum rim widths for their tires.

For example.

Good year sells the GSC and the Eagle F-1 in 275 width. But may recommend different minimum rim width for either. It all depends on the rigidity of the tire and the sidewall.

If you are gonna mount a 275 on a 8.5" rim, it would be wise to check with the manufacturer first. If you are mounting on a 9" rim, you are good to go.

See this thread too...

The best thing to do for getting the correct tire width on the rim is to go to Tire Rack, and look at the specs for the specific brand tire you are going to use. A couple reasons for this:

1 - Not all manufacturers recommend the same rim width for the same size tires..... In fact, Goodyear has different rim width measurements for the same size tires in different lines. Do a search on 275/40-17 and you get the following results:

Recommend a rim width of 9-11":
-BFG
-Kumho
-Michelin
-Firestone
-Goodyear F1 Supercar

Recommend a rim width of 8.5 - 11":
-Dunlop
-Goodyear GS-C.

2 - The narrower the sidewall, the less variation is allowed in rim width. An 18 to 20" tire is much more critical on rim width than a 15-16" tire.
