Whats the right wheel offset for 18x9.5's?
Well, the offset is how far between the center of the wheel and the face of the wheel. So, on a wheel, the larger the offset, the less it will stick out of the wheelwell. If the offset is small, the wheel will stick out further.
Take a standard SS wheel from SLP. It is 17x9 and the offset is 2" or 50.8 millimeters. On my wheel in my pics, the 9.5" wheel has an offset of 49 millimeters.
So, the 54 mm offset will push the wheel in 1/5 of an inch. The 65 mm wheel will push the wheel in 6/10 of an inch compared to my wheels.
My guess is that the 54 mm wheel will look very much like my wheel offset and should work for you.

I bought a set of 18x9.5 C5 rims a few days ago and went with the 65mm because that was the only thing I could get local. I went with Nitto 285/35s front and rear. The back wheels set in the wheel well a little more then what I wanted. The front looks perfect though. The rear tires will rub the inner wheel well under hard cornering. I can give it a few taps with a hammer and fix that but havent had the time. If I dont corner like a mad man the rear doesnt rub. I would like the rear to set out about an inch or so more then what it does.
