Question What paint to use to paint interior peices?

I need to know what paint to use to paint my interior peices (their starting to fade so i decided to do something about it). Ive heard that Krylon Fusion is good but is there any better out there to use? Also, what kind of primer do yall use on it? And do you use clear coat? If so, what kind? I went to the store looking for some paint and there was so much to choose from. I want a shiney finish so do i sand, primer, paint, and then put clear coat on it?

Primer isn't needed, really. I've gone through and painted almost all the panels of my interior except the long skinny panel that runs along the driver and passenger side floor, and I haven't touched the passenger dash because I don't want to mess with that airbag module. Everything else I've painted over, and just used Krylon Fusion Gloss Black. Works great, doesn't run that easilly either. Just remember thin coats, and the great part about Fusion is that each coat is ready in 30 seconds, so you can do tons of layers in a short period of time. It's even ready for clear coat within an hour, compared to the day or so cure time for other paints. It dried pretty glossy for my tastes, but of course you can always clear coat afterwards. All in all, I definitely would recommend Fusion.

Here's some pictures of my painted interior. Depends on who you talk to, non-Camaro owners don't seem to notice..

This one is centered on the LEDs that I put in my headliner for courtesy lights, but you can still see the door and the back panel both were painted black and then the obvious red speaker covers and the reupholstered red vinyl panels.

And this one is a good example of difference between stock and the self-painted panels... the vent is stock black, never touched at all. Blends in perfectly with the Fusion-painted door panels.

dang, your interior looks really good, nice job! I am painting my interior black and green, but i can't find any seat covers. Your doors look really sweet with the red vinyl! how did you do that? and how did you put those red LEDs in the headliner? looks good though! you should paint those front speaker grills red to match the rest of the door panels.

I used plasti-kote on mine and it seems to work well, I too also sanded the pieces, but did not bothered to prime...if u like to see results, it's on page 3 about halfway down of my cardomain site.

With the Plasti-kote you used, does it scrape off or peel when scraped or scratched?

With multiple coats and plenty of drying time in between, the paint is solid, I have hit the center gauge console with my keys and no scratch or dings...and there's no sign of peeling. My wife has fingernails and when she opens the door, there's no scratches on the paint...Just to remind you I used two different types of paint (enamel and lacquer - both are Plasti-Kote brands), if you look at page 8 of my cardomain site, i explain how i painted the interior...hope that helps.
