What grit sandpaper to use on stock wheel sanding for paint??

Gonna paint my stock 5 spokes black and was wondering what grit sandpaper I should use? And should I use primer or will just sanding be fine?

This depends on what look you want. But the rule of thumb is at least a 400 grit before the top coat. Finer will get you a smoother finish but is more work. If you do not sand though the existing paint you don't "need" to primer.

you can just scuff it up with a scotch bright pad they sell them at almost any auto parts stores just scuff till u get a dull like finish and shot the paint and clear. if you use sand paper use at least 400 grit and try not to go all the way down to the metal cuz if you do then you have to primer them.
