What is the GMPP car on GMHTP actually "painted" with

What is the GMPP car on GMHTP actually "painted" with

In the article it comments it's flat black, if that's the case I would assume it just a primer sealer. But in many of the pictures it looks like it's actually a satin black. You can see some reflections in it they just aren't clear, which would suggest it's a satin black 2 stage paint.

Does anyone know for sure what it's painted with?

I'm pretty sure it's just a matte finish black paint. Not all paints are high gloss, and all the ones that are less than mirror finish are not necessarily primer.

It sure does

Here it was at the 2006 Hot Rod Power Tour

And a picture under the hood for good measure

It's not really all that different looking under the hood than an LS-1 really. I'm sure if it wasn't for the LS-7 decal on the back, most people would be wondering what was so special about it.

I realize there are several paints to achieve a semi gloss, I was just curious to know if anyone knows which one they used. Even PPG has one. Some of the companies just use an additive to dull down the clear coat.

Have you tried emailing GM? You might be surprised, GM has answered a lot of my questions over the years.
