What do you think of white face gauges?

I put an LT1/T56 in my 87 Camaro, and since the guages are mechanical and the sending unit on the tranny is of course electrical, I need new gauges. I was looking at the Phantom II's. They look sweet at night. What do you think?

I like them, but for some reason I don't want them in my Z28.

Im kinda afraid to get them because it may seem too "ricerish". I dont know. Im probably going to end up going with the Sport-Comp series.

Another "don't like them" vote. But I do like digital, as in Dakota Digital.

Re: What do you think of white face gauges?

White face gages always remind me of seeing them in a Rice car like a Honda Civic. For that reason, I would and could NEVER put them in an F-body I own.

The last thing I think of when I see them is "rice". My brother-in-law has the brushed aluminum indiglo gauges in his '99 SS and they're awesome.

Re: What do you think of white face gauges?

See, I think that white face gauges look great in 4th gen f-body's, and SVT Cobra's and such. But I have never seen them in an early model third gen. The third gens with the circle gauges.

Here's a link to the Phantom II's. If you scroll the mouse over the "View Illumination" button you can see it turn black at night.

And here's a link to the Sport-Comp gauges. Im leaning towards these.

Tell me what you think.

Re: What do you think of white face gauges?

Go with the sport comps. I have them in my Z, and they look great. My buddy has the white face gages in his Supra, and in his car they look good, I just personally think they remind me too much of a Ricer, and not at all like a muscle car. Just my 2 cents.
