Buy some POR 15 Marine Cleaner and Metal Ready.

Spray marine cleaner, wire brush, wipe off with wet rag. Repeat a few times leaving the cleaner on as directions indicate.

Spray metal ready on and let sit, then wire brush and repeat as necessary.

Shine up with your favorite chrome pad or polish.

why spend $20 on paint and prep materials when you could go out and get some new ones for probably $50.

just deal with it for a few more weeks then buy some new ones.

what kind of tips are you looking for?

I got 3" slash cut tips on there now..the standard round tips that everyone puts on ..I was considering putting on my regular stock tips again..but didnt want to do that..yea $50 for tips..I wish..they are $30 a peice and thats not instalation...which sucks..thats why I was just going for something diffrent..

and tips you ask..anything that looks half decent on a Z28..if you got something in mind..

and to tell you they didnt start rusting till I hade my cutout put on and running that open...I guess going through the muffler is benifiacial to kepping an exhaust from corroding...who knew..well now I do..

2.5" in/3.5" out, slash cut chrome for $20 each, $10 to ship and then $10-20 to weld on at a shop...

sorry i was a few bucks short.

call around the muffler shops, they may sell some cheaper.
