Wet sand between paint and clear?

Wet sand between paint and clear?

when i wet sand over the paint it goes dull almost like a flat black am i sanding to much or will the clear bring back the gloss. or do i apply a thin coat of paint after wet sanding and then straight to clear. i am using 1500 grit paper after paint.

Painting what?


The clear coat will bring the gloss back. Just dont sand through the paint into whatever your painting.

Of course it's going to dull, it's sandpaper. Just sand enough to get the high spots and don't over do it because you might hit the primer. If you do, it's time to paint it again.

yes it's going to go dull...i'm not positive on the process of color sanding but i think you'd sand the basecoat then apply another coat the clear then scuff the clear then buff to a glass like finish...I THINK!!!
