I should be able to get a little bit of extra money, about $5k around February and plan on repainting the whole car the same existing color, Mystic Teal. Paint is coming off the nose and the driver's side quarter has some damage that is being covered under insurance. I don't plan on the door jambs and everything painted, just the exterior, and possibly a functional Warbird hood while I'm at it. How much am I looking at to repaint this thing? I am trying to fiqure out about how much I will have left for mods after doing this. Thanks.

eh........at least 2K for a decent job and more for better paint,prep,color etc.......

 

not having the door jambs and such done will save alot of money. Most of the work comes in dissasembling everything and all that other jazz. I would say under 2k

 

I just had mine repainted, (including jams, and trunk area but not under the hood) for $1800 pre tax.. They also fixed my slightly cracked nose and a few dents. Plus it's a different color on 85% of the car. It's a great job IMO..

For a really good one around 2000...I got quoted 2200 from a guy that did nothing but show cars/older hotrods and such

 

I just got a quote today on my car which is also mystic teal but I only wanted the front clip and hood painted b/c of rock chips. The guy said it would be nearly 1 grand! I said... that is rediculous, I can live with the rock chips if its gonna cost $1000 to fix. Supposidly all the labor is in sanding out the chips and not in paint like I thought. He also said a pint of the paint I have since he claimed he used to have a camaro the same color is nearly $100.... not sure how the compares to something like black or white but it sounds like expensive for an entire vehicle.
