Cool Want to paint wheels, important paint prep Questions!!

Well i think its time to do something about my subaru SVX wheels; the northeast winters have taken a toll on them. The paint is bubbling near the calipers, i think moisture got under the painted finish. I want to paint them a dark color, anthracite, one of those dark "rice" wheel colors. I'm getting the wheels sandblasted and i just wanted to know what i should do to paint them properly, paint prep....etc. Whats the lowest cost way? I rather spend my money on the Z28.

Thanks guys

Are you can painting them? If so you might want to use a hell of a lot of tape. And have some fine grain sand paper ready when it dries.

Your best bet would be to take them to a body shop to get painted. That way they can put a base coat and a clear coat of paint on which will reduce chips on the edges of the wheel. I work at a body shop and I was happy with the results of getting wheels paited that way.

Well i was gonna base coat it sand it down wet and then clear coat a couple layers using the stuff from the auto parts store. Then buff it to a shine after 4 coats. As long as i keep the bare wheels clean i dont see a problem. Tell me if i'm wrong.
