Upgrade for stock E brake handle?

Does anyone know of a nicer emergency brake handle available in the aftermarket? I am talking about the plastic grip that slips over the handle itself. I am looking for something that is leather with real stiching maybe. If not I would settle for a black stock grip. Mine is grey...did they come in black? My search has not really come up with anything. Thanks

Get a leather steering wheel cover and modify it, stitch it over the handle- I doubt if anyone ever made such a specialty item, even years ago when these cars were being built-

I thought it was possible, but I could be wrong. I am pretty sure there are companies that make a nice shift boot so specialty items aren't out of the question.

Was a stock black E brake grip ever made?

The grip on our 35th Anni is ebony. It's a different style E-brake handle than '93-'96 though if that's what you're needing it for. I don't recall a more black handle being available those years.

The handle in our '95 is as dark as they came, which is pretty much black, but not really:

so the grip in your '95 is darker than the ebony in the 35th?

No, not really. It's the same color as the seat, which is a graphite--really dark gray. The ebony in the 35th anni SS is maybe slightly darker, but ebony has a hint of brown in it.

Without getting nit picky, I'd say they are just about as dark as each other, but the ebony color has brown in it.

Concerning the handle though, I don't know if the handle from a '97-'02 would be interchangable to a '93-'96 car and vice-versa. Since your sig doesn't have your current f-body car listed, I don't have any idea what year of f-body you're wanting to change.

Are you talking about the handle in your GTO or what?

no my '35 has a lot of 4th gen f body parts including the rear brakes and e brake (as crappy as it it) so instead of a grey handle in what will be a black interior I would prefer black without buying a whole new, expensive aftermarket handle. So my first option is just making this one look nicer..

I missed your first post. the e brake is from a '97 so I may not have the option of the one in your '95. I'll have to see what colors are available to 97-02 besides ebony.

What year handle is currently in it?

'93-'96 darkest is graphite like our's

'97-'02 darkest is ebony like our's

I don't think graphite was ever offered '97-'02 but might be wrong. I think the closest was Medium Gray, which was a lighter gray than graphite.

ok, thanks for the information. maybe i'll try an ebony one. the only other problem would be the button itself, but I guess I would probably just leave it alone.
