Trans Am Tail light blackouts

Are Lund blackouts good quality? Do they mount securely or do they look like they will come off easy?

Thanks.

lookup VHT niteshade paint. Its a blackout paint that you spray on the taillight. I have a can downstairs, but havnt tried it yet. Paid 9 $ or so for it. Hoping to do mine soon though. A few people have used it and like it. I guess light shines through better, and theres no blackout for people to steal. Also blackouts can trap in heat and cause the taillight to warp.

My tail lights look like new. I'm the original owner and it only has 30K miles. I just like the way blackouts look on a black car. I wouldn't want to use spray on tint because it cannot be undone.

Why did you get rid of the covers?

I think that stuff about covers warping the taillights is pure BS. I don't have a T/A, but I've had my covers on the Z since last June and my taillights are still fine. I like the ability to take them off though, because sometimes I might get tired of them and wanna go for no covers for maybe a few weeks, then I might want to put them back on. I don't like the spray idea just because it's irreversable.....

Re: Trans Am Tail light blackouts

well fellas, may i suggest something?? on my 92 Z28 i made a set of my own covers, just put plexiglass over the taillight on a bench of course, not on the car, and just take a heat gun and shape them in place and make little holding clips on the sides, this way they stay tight, hence no heat is in between, but rather gets transfered right out through the plexiglass. Never took them off in 3 years, and when i did, not one problem

Blackouts will scratch the taillights and possible the paint if it touches.
