Trans Am Seats

I have a 94 Trans Am with leather seats and lumbar support, but not power. Would it be possible to replace the seats with one that had power seats and just plug it up to an existing plug or something??

LOL your going to think I'm some dork who hangs out here all the time I work at home as a software consultant for autralia clients and sometimes have alot of time on my hands..

Anyways I believe you can buy the power bottoms and make your stock seats power. Those are hard to find. But with a 94 you may want to wait out till a good deal comes around on ebay for a newer set. I've seen very nice ones go for 500-600 I just sold mine (replaces with Corbeaus) for 275 and they were in great shape no tears or cracks!!!

hit the junk yard and get the motor off any gm power seat for cheap. then hit any parts store and get a 2-way rocker switch. or go to ebay and spend over 400 for a decent set of USED seats that may be ripped, torn, or woar[sp] out. anyway, i may be selling mine from a 97 z with grey int. in NJ

thanks for the responces guys.

Reason im askin is I need to either recover my seats or replace them. I figured it would be cheaper just buying replacement seats off eBay with power already included.

So I take it I can just take a seat out of a Trans Am that had power seats and just put it in mine ... plug and play???

Check underneath the driver seat for the harness. There should be a cut in the carpet with the white and orange wires connected to the harness.

If you find the power seats, you might need the connecting harness which goes under the carpet, over the hump, to provide the lumbar on the passenger side power. Not all that bad, just requires a little bit of an afternoon.

If the power harness is not there, I'm sure you could run a power source from somewhere, but I'm not sure.

That's what I did in my Camaro. Got some 98 leather TA seats with the lumbar off of Ebay. Got it from SpeedAutomotive. Try checking their website.
