Going to be removing the seats out of my z 28 for some new coverings and extra padding. Are there any special or oddball tool I will need to do this? Will I need some torx sockets - to remove torx head bolts. I have most "regular" sae and metric stuff.

Lets hear from those of you who have pulled seats.

If your talking just the seats, then all your going to need is a 13mm wrench or socket/wrachet, and a phillips screwdriver.. the Seatbelts require a T-47 torx.

I've had my interior stripped atleast 1/2 dozen times already...

 

that sounds good. i only have a few torx screwdrivers and need to purchase some additional tools torx bits etc. sometime.

Torx BITS are a must - not torx drivers - cause there's a few of those torx bolts you can't turn by hand - threaded with blue thread lock (Loc-Tite). The back seats require you to remove the seat belt bracket in order to get the backrest off as well - so you will HAVE to have them for that.

But yes - other than that like 97FormulaWS-6 said - a 13mm (I find deep wells useful for the rears where the studs seems to be longer) and a ratchet will do the trick.
