Tinting LT1 Camaro headlights.
Tinting LT1 Camaro headlights.
Is there anyway to take apart LT1 camaro headlights to tint the reflective parts? I recently installed some HID bulbs into the stock type housings and it is just way too bright for oncoming traffic.
Or would spraying a few light coats of VHT niteshades on the glass help with this. I've heard that the niteshades looks purple when light is shown through them, especially with light coats. I think it would look badass to tint the headlights slightly, especially on a darker vehicle. I've seen it done before, but I don't know if it was niteshades or just regular paint.
I don't want to dull the light output too much, just what oncoming traffic sees.

Tinting the reflector or the glass itself is just going to negate the increased output. Your problem is with the reflector itself. You'll never be able to get the light output you want without the glare you're trying to eliminate. About the only solution I've seen that actually works is to replace them with the Hella 90mm projectors.
For a point of reference, here's a project I finished about an hour ago. Projector retrofit and a HID kit on my Subaru.

I don't like the look of round headlight on a LT1 camaro front end, or else I would have done that already. I have hids in projectors on my silverado and the light output and cutoff is awesome.
And I had them aimed all the way down so that they would light up about 20 feet in front of me and they are still bright as hell.
