Tinted my Z, don't like it now

I thought it would look better with it but I was wrong. It's about 50 degress C over here and a tint really helps sheild some of the heat. It'll definitely be removed after summer. Reason is I think subconsciously i like to be seen in my camaro, plus I miss the pristine appearance of clear glass on a newly washed camaro. But my wifes little chevy is tinted & we like it that way.

Has anyone else tinted theirs? I see many camaros and vettes in the States without any window tint. I guess it looks better that way.

Re: Tinted my Z, don't like it now

I had 20% tint the 2 sides and back window. I loved it. A poilice officer didn't. I think I am going to put 20 back on here in a little while now that I don't drive the car everyday.

I just tinted my daily driver (97 Subaru Legacy) with 35% tint, it looks good, but the 20% really would look nice.

I have 20% on the sides, and 5% on the back, and wouldn't have it any different. It makes the look of the car to me.

And the cops don't bug me here for anything. Although we'll see how that lasts next summer when the car comes back from a summer of reconstruction.

just get a letter from an optometrist saying you need it because of sensitivity to sunlight. They will do it for you no questions asked and a cop cant give you a ticket that way.

I love the tint on mine, makes it with the top of the car being black and the bottom being red. Just BEA-utiful!

My black car is tinted on the sides and rear. Looks good all dark and black.

I hav 18% all around on mine(or atleast thats what the tint meter at work said). My mom has like 25% on her convertible z28 and it made it looke so much better after she did it

I love it makes the top of the car all black and blend in better.

That's because you have 20% tint film. The windows are tinted from the factory a little. Mine metered at 18 when the cop pulled me over

I actually don't see how anybody could think untinted windows look better than windows with tint.

Well, for one it's simply a matter of individual aesthetic taste. Apart from that I think I miss being seen in a camaro, as camaros here are not as dense as in the states (there are only a couple of hundred f-bods in this country), the driver often gets a second look from the fairer sex in a car like this . I dont want that taken away from me . Again, I think my Z looks better without a tint (mine's 30%) cos it conceals much of the shadings and work done on the glass (such as the rear defogger) which I think contribute to some pristine beauty. Maybe I'm simply too used to seeing my camaro tintless.

Got any before and after pictures?

I love my 35% tint job.

Yeah, I've seriously been thinking about tint for awhile now......think I'm gonna go ahead and do it soon.

In the summer, both my windows are always down anyways, so the only thing you'd see is the tinted hatch.
