Tinted lexan grill insert vs air flow??
OK, yes I'm a blond female but please don't bully me or make fun of me. Just a simple question if I can put a sheet of dark tinted lexan that my friend custom made for me in place of the grill insert that was in there. I was wondering if my car relies on air flow through there for cooling? Thanks, Danni

All of the fourth generation (1993-2002) Camaro and Firebirds are "bottom breathers", meaning they get their main air flow from under the front bumper. Air is deflected up into the radiator by that big downward facing flap you see under the front of the car (just ahead of the front wheels)..
The Camaro SS, Firebird WS-6 and Firehawk cars also get air through vents/scoops in the hood.
I would say that you will be safe putting the Lexan piece on the front bumper face.

Thanx, Just wanted to be sure. I bought a mesh type grill thingy to fit in there but I didn't like the look, I have a friend who owns a glass shop and took that piece and made one out of dark lexan to match my headlight covers. It looks really good but didn't know if it was safe, Thanks again Vance
