Thought of a Mod!! tell me what you think

Ok, I am in the middle of painting the inside of my headlights black, around the edge, but I am having to wait since I broke the one trying to separate it, but that is besides the point. Has anyone ever tinted the front lense on the headlight? I think that it would look cool, but is it legal? If anybody has any idea about this let me know.

Yeah I have heard of blackouts, but they look bad after a while and they get stolen and fall off. I just thought of this and I wanted to know what everyone thought of it.

I was thinking of doing the inside of the light, the only problem I thought of was the heat. I was just wondering if anybody had ever done it?

I tinted my rear lights using R/C car tint from a hobby shop. It looks professional and comes off with rubbing alcohol in case you don't end up liking it.

actually i thought of something similar that might look good..

buy the clear headlight covers.. the ones that are like blackouts.. same design.. but clear.. then get some of that tint from like autozone.. they make it in blue, red, and yellow from what i understand. this would only work on cars of those colors... but tint the clear headlight covers with that tint that corresponds with the color of your car.. it would work like blackouts on a black car.. hiding that area almost totally.. but instead being on a red, blue, or yellow car.. my car is mystic teal so i cant try it.. otherwise i would..

You would make your headlight pretty much useless at night. At least with blackouts, you can take them off. I had blackout on my car for over a year. Never had them stolen or had them come loose. just needed a change, so I tries probeams and then ended up doing the painted light mod. Much better. IMHO.

But legally, I don't think they are legal and definily not safe from a drivers stand point at night.

LT1 style lighting is bad enough as it is! i think with the addition of tint on the lenses it would be worse and not worth the way it looked for the crappy lighting! As for the colored "black outs" so to speak i think they might look kinda tacky, but again id have to see it to be able to make a fair judgment

Do a search-someone on here paints his front and rear signal markers with black paint, but if I were you with a white car I would get clear turn signal lenses anyways.

I think that some people are getting confused about what I said.

Here it is:

I took my headlights apart to paint the chrome area around the headlight, I am painting that black. Then I thought maybe to tint the front clear lense of the headlight with maybe 50% or so tint. Do you think this would look good?
