I'll dig up the part numbers edit: I believe these are them, dirt cheap, took 3 days to reach me.

PART NO. 10283848

did you all just get lucky and find these parts at the local junkyard? (high unlikely i know). or did you guys just buy the fenders/hood/bumper from the dealer? if so what kind of cost are you looking at? and also is there a walkthrough guide anywhere for this conversion?

New bumper stops aren't needed. But likely you'll need new ones because the old ones will be disintegrated. The side hood stops by the fender are rendered useless, the mounting braket for the stops on the LS1 are actually welded about 2 inches higher, not really worth fixing.

Reznor-How did you get the hood to sit at the proper height without the LS1 rear hinge? Are you positive it was the ones that were on the LT1 hood? Maybe you lucked out and everything lined up properly. Seems impossible.

Mike, or anyone i have a question about the air intake duct, did you use the corvette intake setup, would you happen to know the part number and what year vette that duct came off of, and can you tell me how long that duct is, it has to be 6 inches long to reach from the tb to the airbox, i bought the 3' by 3' fernco at home depo but its not long enough to reach the air box lid, that why im asking about the length of the corvette duct, and yes im useing the ls1 stock airbox setup like you have, thanks for your help

I just went to www.gmpartsdirect.com and got the intake duct for a 96 corvette with the LT1 motor. And that's what I got. The perfect part.

Honestly...I've never been able to find a part the first time. I've always had to e-mail a parts request, which is what I did in this instance too. And where they ask for a VIN, I just typed in a bunch of crap. I tried looking up my old e-mails for the part # and just couldn't find it. Like I said...just e-mail them a parts request for a 96 Corvette with the LT1 motor. Make up a vin...and tell them it's the air duct from the MAF sensor to the throttle body.

I know that I didnt get new hinges... And the hood seems to me to sit at the proper height... They are the same stock hinges that came with the car... when I installed my old FFI SS hood I had to bend off these little pieces in which the aftermarket hood didnt have holes for, but other than that I did nothing. The new LS1 hood installation went pretty smooth. The hood is an original SS hood witht he GM sticker still on it when I got it. I have plenty of pics on my website of the car, and I think the hood lines up pretty good. Are there any visual differences between the LT1 and the LS1 hinge? Because I can take some pics for those that are interested.

I never really saw any visual differences in the hinges myself, but I know that the stock one's didn't work on my car. If they work on someone else's...then that's awesome....30 bucks or so you won't have to spend.

That duct, by the way, is right at about 6 inches long. I'm tellin ya...with the 98-up airbox connected to the MAF sensor and the duct connecting the MAF sensor to the throttle body...it fits like a glove...like it was just meant to go there.
