I just did the Silverstars and they look much better then stock and they are really white. I would recommend this to everyone.

I used JBWeld...$3 and it works great.

Just as a note...the old bulb was Sylvania as well and the Silverstar snapped right in. I had an extra sealed beam but it wasn't a Sylvania, it was "Guide". It DID NOT snap in...I probably didn't need to seal the Sylvania/Sylvania Silverstar but I did anyways.

I'm very happy with the results...I took some pics of the stock high beams vs. silverstar lows. Big difference. $20 a bulb at AutoZone plus $10 rebate.

Then don't expect a whole lot out of whatever you do with the stock housings. I fought this for a LONG time before I figured out that no matter what, the housings sucked and you weren't gonna get much light, and porr lighting quality out of them. I put just about every brand of 9006/9005 bulbs in mine, and it never improved my drivability much - a little, not much.

So basically, with this "mod", all you are looking at is what color of light output do you want?

And BTW, about the best bulb you can put in there is the Silvania Silverstars. Regardless of the numbers, they are some of the brightest bulbs.

If you want to go as bright as possible though, then get some high wattage clear bulbs - I suggest the Luks brand.
