Here are a couple pics of mine. They turned out really well. I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol followed with 3 coats of vht and 3 coats of clear. After this, they were kinda dull. I waited a day and used a polishing compound and they are pretty glossy now. I have since switched back to the stockers for a different look though.

Your car looks nice man! I am looking to go not quite as dark with mine though. Anyone have any pics with just 1 or 2 coats of VHT?

Thanks. I originally planned only using two coats, but it didn't seem dark enough. I loved the look until I finished the CME, the stock lights seem to bring out more detail. BTW I got my Niteshades off Summit.

Here is a thread with a couple pics of mine. I have them pretty dark and they are for sale if your interested, I now have stock LT1 style taillights. They could use a little wet sanding to be perfect though.

I heard that if you have that stuff on your taillamps and you get rear ended or hit while braking or backing up it is automatically considered your fault by the insurance companies. The same goes for blackout covers. I'd be careful if you do it.

Look at Roach02's with the headlights lit... you can't even see the lights barely. If I were you CALL911, I'd either forget it all together or only do 1 coat.

I once had the blackouts, and almost got rearended a few times. I have aftermarket tailights, but would like to put just one or two coats on them. I would really like to see someone with a light coating done on theirs to see what they would look like. Unfortunatly, most who do this make them dark.

68z28, that came out REALLY CLEAN!!

I still need to clear mine. I think I;'m gonna wet sand a little off. I did three coats. The first was a little heavy, the second had fisheyes in it, the third was just right but a touch too dark. oh, well... I had other pics of it, but since my computer crashed..... .... .. there goes my hundreds of car pics!

HEre's my thread on it... Pics prolly aren't any different.

Bayer, thanks for the compliments. Your z with those Rebel's isn't hard to look at either. That white Camaro is sweet. White F-Bodies, when kept clean and accented right, might be my favorite color(Next to Bright Red of course ).

Can you do that to the corner lenses with them on the bumper? I don't want to take the bumper off...

Im sure you could but make sure you tape it off really well so VHT doesnt get on you paint. I took mine off and thought it was worth the trouble instead of possibly getting VHT on my paint

here's some new ones. I wetsnaded them yesterday and did three coats of clear. I'm thinking about sanding the clear and spraying it again, to get it to look better...

68z28, how in the h3ll did you get your lights to look that good?!...

Did mine a little different. No wet sanding either and they still came out decent. Never mind the photo chopped CME.
