Thinking of Painting Valve Covers

I would like to paint my valve covers because my car is currently under down time because Speed Inc can't get their sh*t together and ship out my parts(don't buy anything from them). I just wanna make sure I know what I'm getting into. I have already painted the calipers so I'm expirienced. To paint the valve covers, it's it just take them off, paint, and re assemble? Do I need new gaskets? It is easy to remove the valve covers? Thanks!!
