Think this sounds like a good paint color combo???

I FINALLY finished my car, and its going in to be painted tomorrow. But I still can't decide on a color.

Here is one of the colors I am thinking about:
Dark Gray

Then maybe I would get white racing stripes depending on how it looks.

Or, I will get Sunset Orange Metallic
SOM

My car is a 94 Formula, so it will look a bit different than those.
I do have a hood and gfx though, so I think a darker color might work better, since a lot of people will think its rice if I go with SOM.

Or, I guess I could leave it the color it is now:
Purple Pearl Metallic

Oh yeah, I also did the T-top conversion and it turned out awesome. Looks just as good, if not better than an original t-top car, since I sanded all those stupid spotwelds in the weatherstripping channel down.

Thanks for any input

That grey looks sweet, but I LOVE the SOM.

SOM is one of the few oranges (along with Hugger) that is immune to being called rice, so don't even worry about that! if that's what you want, just go for it! I personally like the dark gray.

Love the Sunset Orange.
The gray is sweet and would be a lot less common.
Tough decision, good luck.

As soon as you typed those 3 letter letters "SOM" there was no doubt in my mind(and there shouldnt be any in yours either) that som is the color for your car.

If you are going to dump the money into a paint job, don't paint it a stock color. Find something you like and make your a one-of-a-kind car,

The gray color is not stock. That's the color I am going to use, dropping the car off today.

Good choice! I've been debating that dark gray for quite some time now. I just may go with it. I think it'll look awesome!

problem with the sunset orange, is its done already, a lot! hell ive seen a father/son team on super chevy with a pair of em in that color, a guy around here has it, but hes a dipsh*t.... hes had that car with that paint on it, with the SAME DAMN CRUNCHED HOOD for about 3 years now.... and its a 98 style camaro.... woulda thought he coulda fixed that by now.... its just a hood for gods sake.... lol its a beautiful color, no doubt... but i would try to go with something different, my car is that purple color right now, wont be for long but if you like grey, go with the gunmetal, but make sure its a nice one, otherwise its wasted money, some gunmetal colors arent as nice as others... and when you spray them, you will get nothing but dissapointment, the orange is cool, but accent it, personally, i dont think that color looks good without a nice spoiler, and some ground effects, and some nice 17" chrome rims would be a big improvement as well.... just make sure its on the right car, with the right kit... and the right rims.... that color would be sick

i gotta say man, my car is purple... and i aint diggin it... i like yours though, not enough to paint my car purple pearl metallic, but i like it a hell of a lot better than what i got on there now lol i especially like how the hood has a cowl induction integrated into a stock style hood, with the cowl vents still in place... very nice touch, and gives you much more creative freedom, like the designing of the stripes... more easily done on yours than mine...mine is a bone solid hood, nothing stock about it but the shape... and with the abrupt styling of the scoop on the front, its going to make it hard for me to do a nice 2 tone job... which is why im considering the hockeysticks... nice accent, and it can be done with the hood on, and the hood will still come out looking good A+ on that creation man...
