taking off molding

i have a black 98 and if i take off the molding will it be difficult to get the paint to match, cuz thats a big concern? are there any tricks to taking it off? everyone agrees it looks better without right? once i take them off, they will never be able to be put back on just right.

I was thinking about doing this and possibly repainting the strips. Is it possible to put them back on or will they be warped?

I also asked this before but got no answer: Can you buy these side moldings new from anywhere?

I'm sure if you are very careful when you remove them, they can probably be re-installed using 3m adhesive. You just want to be sure not to bend them while removing them.

You can probably get new molding from the dealer. I have no idea what the P/N is though.

I hope that helps...
